Doors At 7 and Total Production US magazine are developing ongoing music jam sessions to be held at Los Angeles area locations, yet to be determined. Participation on stage is limited to tech crews and their musician friends. Bring your instruments, amps and drum kits.

To begin the monthly or weekly jam sessions - we need your feedback! When and where is the most convenient for in town and touring crews?

When: We feel weekends are out, since most shows happen then. What about Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday night? Monthly? Bi-weekly? Weekly?

Where: Downtown L.A.? Hollywood? West L..A.? Santa Monica? The Valley? Perhaps a 30-minute radius from crew hotels would be preferable.

Location: We need to know the favorite crew hangouts, such as bars and hotel bars with stages. Give us some suggested locations in the location box below. We will more than likely cycle between several locations.

Signups: We are not planning on a whole lot of structure. However, so everyone can enjoy the jam sessions, onstage and off, there does need to be at least some semblance of organization; otherwise, twelve drummers and no guitarists will show up one week, or vice versa. Signups will be by e-mail on this site.

Host: We need one or more L.A. area musicians, either yourself or someone you know, to act as host for the Tech Jam. We'll handle locations, times, sponsors and accept signups by e-mail, which we'll forward to you. You would coordinate song selection and rotating stage times for all participants, with emphasis on touring crews just in town for the week. Diplomacy is a good trait to have, in this case.

Why: It's for every one of us who has ever stood in the rain and cold in Boston, Seattle, L.A, Dallas and Tokyo, unloading a late truck, and rushing to get the show in on time. If you love that Jackson Browne song, "Stay (Just A Little Bit Longer)" because of the way he compliments the crew, you know what it's like to be part of a road family that loves music. The jams will provide a way for all of us to get together with buddies from different crews and production companies, either in town or passing through, to indulge our common passion - making music.

Fill out the form below, and tell your friends to do the same. As soon as we know where and when you want the jams to take place, we will get them started.

We will update you by e-mail when the jams get off the ground as well as post on this website dates, time and locations.
